Eric Olsen

Career media professional and serial entrepreneur Eric Olsen flung himself into the paranormal world in 2012, creating the America's Most Haunted brand and co-authoring the award-winning America's Most Haunted book, published by Berkley/Penguin in Sept, 2014. Bermuda Music Festival

I love working on these “music festivals in exotic locales” stories, which are frankly not much more than promotional announcements with some random commentary thrown in, because I can fantacize about being there at least while I’m tossing the piece together. And who knows, maybe someone who reads them will …

Chips and Salsa

I like my title a lot better than the story: Security has reached the subcutaneous level for Mexico’s attorney general and at least 160 people in his office — they have been implanted with microchips that get them access to secure areas of their headquarters. It’s a pioneering application of …

Is Audible Magic? Apparently Not

In the ongoing P2P wars between the RIAA, the file sharing networks, and file sharers themselves, the RIAA has been of late talking up the capabilities of Audible Magic’s “acoustic filtering” technology, urging its adoption upon universities, corporations, and Congress. Blending Barbie

We mentioned several months ago that Mattel lost yet again in court trying to stifle Barbie-art. Now Freeculture.org (“the organizing center of a new student movement to support free speech, free software, and free culture”) has organized National Barbie-in-a-Blender Day: Mattel isn’t a big fan of free speech– at least …

Declare Your Rock the Get Out and Vote

I agree that getting as many people as possible involved in the political process is an unambiguous good, and I also agree that voting is like most habits: the younger you begin, the more likely you are to stick with it. I am also glad to see Republicans are no …

The Images of CW

Our own CW Fisher is a poetic soul in an instruction-manual world. Not only is he one of Blogcritic’s most outstanding writers, but he is also a Photoshop artist (did I just make that term up?) of no small talent. Check out his alternately gripping and amusing surrealist portfolio here. …
