Bill vs. Bob

This is an interesting idea and certainly something I would watch: Former President Bill Clinton and his opponent in the 1996 presidential election, Bob Dole, will debate national issues in a series of segments for the CBS newsmagazine “60 Minutes.” Clinton and Dole have agreed to tape 10 segments, which …

“Which Amendment Is That Again?”

At this point I am pro-war (this war) all the way – no ambivalence whatsoever that the military invasion of Iraq using the “shock method” is the appropriate course of action. I am wary of anti-war protest because it gives Saddam hope and makes him less likely to comply with …

Freak and a Half

Just another typical media day in the life of the weirdest man in America: Michael Jackson paid a witch doctor to place a curse on DreamWorks partners David Geffen and Steven Spielberg, and wears a prosthetic tip on his nose, claims an article in Vanity Fair magazine. Titled “Losing His …

Tale of Two Groenings

Matt Groening is responsible for two animated series: you’ve probably heard of one, The Simpsons, which recently celebrated its 300th episode and is gearing up for its 15th season. The other is probably less familiar, Futurama, which has ended production after 72 episodes after suffering from inconsistent scheduling and lack …

Digital Hotrodding

My family loves to make sculptures by assembling found objects, or parts of objects, into weird new creations. Our aesthetic is kind of “Clockwork Orange” in that we tend to combine natural and man-made elements into an organic/inorganic, yin/yang amalgam – very holistic and whatnot. We haven’t been at it …
