DVD and Blu-ray Reviews

'The Man from Toronto' is a plot-heavy action buddy comedy intended for fans of its stars, Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson.

'Renfield' is buoyed by awesome performances by Nicholas Hoult, as Dracula's perhaps not-so-faithful servant, and Nicolas Cage as the Count himself.

'V/H/S/99' delivers more twisted horror short stories that will likely please fans of the decade-plus-long series.

Scott Caan stars as a hitman who, in his first day on the job, screws things up royally. Marianne Rendón co-stars as his hostage/accomplice.

A DVD set features vintage performances by Jefferson Airplane, the Grateful Dead, and more. Plus, CDs from Frankie Ford, Bill Pritchard, Cal Tjader, and David Deacon.

'Cocaine Bear' takes a basic idea – drug-addled bear goes on bloodthirsty rampage – and does very little with it.

The once can't-miss entertainer Steven Spielberg proves his ambition exceeds his grasp with the semi-autobiographical 'The Fabelmans.'

Detective Knight: Redemption is part two of an action trilogy starring Bruce Willis.

Those looking for an offbeat Christmas movie should consider Violent Night once the kiddies and old folks go to bed.

This romantic comedy is basically an excuse for reuniting stars Julia Roberts and George Clooney. The scenery is nice, too.
