Developer Naughty Dog put so much effort into this world to make it feel real that it is almost scary. It was challenging and technically amazing to behold, but more importantly I felt moved and impacted by the experience.

Think of this real-time tactics title as being kind of like "Hitman," but in the 19th century... and with a team... and a definite western feel.

Genshin Impact from Mihoyo was one of the most beautiful and impressive games I saw at PAX East this year. It astounded me with its visual style, anime-style characters, complex systems, and in particular its fully open world.

The final day of PAX East had me filling up on root beer and checking out Phantom Brigade, Industries of Titan and Liberated, all great and different games!

On the crowded PAX East show floor, two very different games from publisher Dear Villagers, 'The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk' and 'Recompile', caught my eye as fun and unique titles.
