I don't see Evolve appealing to a large number of gamers,at full price. The public alpha seems like an add-on or a mini-game, a small part of something larger, rather than the meat of a premium release.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is a fun ride but is held back by being more of the same formula from previous games.

Beginning to end, and with all of Sauron's Captains and War Chiefs lying dead at your feet in between, Shadow of Mordor is spectacularly fun. Better than that, it doesn't require a deep love or knowledge of Middle-Earth to make it enjoyable. It can, and does, stand all by itself.

'Defense Grid 2' is a terrific and addictive tower defense game that is slightly marred by a weak story.

While 'Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments' has a stunning level of presentation, it's just too short to compete with other premium releases.

"Destiny" is, when all is said and done, little more than a first person shooter. It tries to be more, but the non-FPS elements all end up feeling grafted on to the FPS experience as opposed to an intrinsic part of it.

The question, of course, with such a title is not whether or not the game is good—"Bioshock" is a great game, an all-time classic—but whether it translates well to mobile devices.

'Destiny' is an ambitious game with some flaws, but is so much fun you will come back again and again to build your Legend.

Even with all its new mechanics, 'Tales of Xillia 2' is unlikely to win over any new converts, but those who enjoyed the first game will probably enjoy playing through its aftermath.

So, how does it stack up to last year's version? Very well indeed, though perhaps not brilliantly.
