Reissues, a New Supergroup, and the Premiere Recording of a Lost Opera
A New Harvest
Today Neil Young resumes his Official Release Series with vinyl and CD editions of four classic ’90s-era albums. CD and vinyl box sets containing the quartet of albums came out in September 2025; starting today fans can get these new editions individually. Sleeps with Angels (with Crazy Horse), Unplugged (recorded for an MTV Unplugged session – remember those?), the hit folk-country groundbreaker Harvest Moon, and Mirror Ball (with the guys from that little outfit called Pearl Jam, remastered from the original analog masters) are available as double LPs and single CDs, complete with the original artwork. They’ll be available at the Neil Young Archives Store and at music retailers.
True Classics Linger

Another rock classic re-release coming out today is a 33rd-anniversary deluxe edition of The Cranberries‘ debut album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? There’s bonus content galore, including Spanish versions of the singles “Linger” and “Dreams” feat. Richard Bratty and ANASOF; a remix of “Linger” by CHVRCHES’ Iain Cook; and new stereo mixes by original producer Stephen Street. Available in seven configurations, including a three-LP deluxe edition, the new release also includes expanded liner notes with track-by-track notes from the band.
Held.
Coheed and Cambria drummer Josh Eppard and The Sleeping’s Douglas Robinson and Salvatore Mignano join forces on GREY, the debut album from their new band Held. “We’re carving out a place together,” Eppard says, “and nobody knows what it is, and there’s something really exciting about that.” Held. begins a U.S. tour supporting Underoath next month. This post-hardcore “sonic storm” (Alternative Press) is out now.
Franklin

Before Franklin (sometimes written as “!franklin”) broke up in 2000, the band was a cornerstone of Philadelphia’s DIY punk scene. A deluxe, remastered and expanded two-LP re-release includes their album Go Kid Go, three 7″s, early demos, and more. It’s out July 17, 2026 on Solid Brass Records.
A Long-Lost Opera Set amid Conflict in the Balkans

Decca Classics will release the world premiere recording of Marina, the long-lost debut opera by Umberto Giordano, on July 31, 2026. It stars Eleonora Buratto as the title heroine described by the Times as “the archetypal woman of verismo operas,” shaped by “violent passion, jealousy, vendetta and family drama.” Giordano was still a student when he composed the opera in 1888, and it didn’t see a performance until February 2026 at Teatro Dal Verme, which co-star Freddie De Tommaso calls the “home of the verismo repertoire.” Listen here to the first single, “Conobbi appena mia madre.”
