For better or worse, the highly anticipated Fallout 4 is essentially a lot more of the same. There is plenty more to do this time around, but really it’s the same buggy, bleak, post-apocalyptic journey through the wasteland you either love or hate.

Sword Coast Legends fails to live up to its potential, delivering a generic repetitive campaign and creation tools that are easy to use but have no depth.

On its own, and clocking in at under an hour, Assembly Required is easily the weakest offering from the long-time adventure game maker. Fortunately, TellTale's 'Minecraft: Story Mode' is clearly marketed towards a younger audience, and fans of the original game, who are a lot more likely to forgive all of the game's shortcomings.

Except for the frame rate issues, once you’re actually racing, 'Need For Speed' is a pretty fun game, as long as you enjoy street racing, at night. The issues the online components create will likely frustrate most users, and there isn't quite enough substance in the rest of the game, to make up for it.

This is a surprisingly accessible and well-executed Japanese role playing game. However, longtime veterans of JRPGs may find the narrative and overall game framework unremarkable compared to more niche titles in the genre.

While Polarized is arguably the weakest of the five episodes, Dontnod's indie-film approach to adventure games is commendable. If you try only one new game franchise this year, make sure it's Life is Strange. The title redefines narrative in modern gaming.

Telltale’s formula is actually fairly entertaining. If there weren’t others moving into the spot of gaming real estate Telltale has staked out, the developer might still be contending for “Game of the Year” honors.

New or old, four buttons or six, "Guitar Hero" is an enjoyable experience, either solo or with a friend. It just should be a better one.

Minecraft: Story Mode is made for the original Minecraft game's largest demographic, which is decidedly younger than those who have been playing TellTale's recent adventure games. It remains to be seen whether younger gamers will appreciate such a story-heavy game, particularly with TellTale's delivery issues.
