The meditative sound glows like the globe. Flowing melodies in the upper and middle voices cruise atop droning tones in the lower, like satellites passing high above the surface of the Earth.

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine hosted the Experiential Orchestra and Artefact Ensemble in Orthodox chants and a passion setting by Arvo Pärt.

Audience members can sit on yoga mats (or chairs) to hear 'Passio' by Arvo Pärt, preceded by Orthodox chants, at the world's largest Gothic cathedral.

A better venue with clearer sound and sightlines would have improved this interesting evocation of ancient Italian healing dances and chants.
