Like Dante Alighieri’s 'Divine Comedy' and Nick Tosches' novel 'In the Hand of Dante,' Schnabel’s unique and mesmerizing film adaptation of the novel does not lend itself to facile understanding.

Not for those seeking thought-provoking storytelling, this President-in-peril thriller is strictly a guilty pleasure.

Filled with every bit as much heart, adventure, danger, and hilarity as the original.

Prequel/sequel dreck that leaves one with a yearning to re-watch the first '300,' which is time far better spent.

I would never recommend anyone wasting 94 minutes of their time with the film, but I will say that I laughed more times throughout Movie 43 than sitting through both "RED 2" and "R.I.P.D." in the same week. Not high praise, but at least there was something to laugh at.

Now this is a Die Hard movie!

In spite of some clunky moments, Chasing Mavericks hangs ten.

Not quite as catchy as "Juke Box Hero," but...

With summer coming to an end, so to are the blockbusters of yesterday.

Most definitely a stand-out in the Dreamworks library.
