Spears had arthroscopic surgery, will be wearing a hard brace for six weeks and will require at least two months of rehabilitation, according to a statement from her label, Jive Records.
The pop tart was scheduled to begin the summer leg of her North American tour – in which she would have needed her knee to facilitate many an energetic and suggestive dance move – June 22 in Hartford, Conn.
Her latest album, In the Zone – the title of which just resulted in a lawsuit against Britney for trademark violation – has sold 2.6 million copies, much to the amazement of many (but not me – I thought it was pretty good dance pop, and typically, I’m right).
No one is sure which breast caused the injury, but her knee is talking to neither, just to be sure.
